Delta Dental of Kentucky Foundation
The Delta Dental of Kentucky Foundation was created in 2004 to support projects and nonprofit organizations that promote oral health and dental education. Delta Dental of Kentucky chose to partner with its local community foundation, the Community Foundation of Louisville and established a Field of Interest Fund and a Donor Advised Fund.
In 2014, we provided funds totaling over $245,000 for dental and community relations projects. Major projects in recent years include:
Our “Teeth on the Go” program that provides free oral health education curriculum for Kentucky teachers from kindergarten through 6th grades. We estimate that we have reached nearly 60,000 children through this program.
University of Kentucky College of Dentistry Mobile Dental Clinic, which provides dental services to the underserved in Central and Eastern Kentucky.
Western Kentucky University Mobile Health Van, which is used to provide preventative dental care to disadvantaged residents in the western part of the state.
Remote Area Medical (RAM), a non-profit organization that provides free dental care to residents in remote areas of Kentucky.
Smile Kentucky!, a statewide education program operated in conjunction with Louisville Water and the Kentucky Dental Association that aims to increase awareness of the quantity of sugar in foods and sugar's effect on teeth.
